Flower Bouquet

This week is Daren's teacher's last week. She has been substituting while his regular teacher has been on leave. Nevermind the fact that there are 9 weeks of school left, and the "substitute" has been his teacher for the entire school year up to this point - let's just put the class into an upheaval! (I am done venting - FOR NOW).

Anyway, I made this little bouquet for his teacher who is leaving to thank her for the wonderful job she has done.

The bouquet is actually pretty small, maybe 12 inches from the bottom to the top of the tallest pink flower, and about 6 inches at the widest point on the flowers. The pictures just make it look big.

Tucked in the flowers, I put the words "Thanks a bunch" in purple, because her favorite color is purple.

The flowers are from the Walk in my Garden cartridge. I used some little gems at the center of each flower for a little bling.

We will be very sorry to see her leave - she has been a fantastic teacher, and the children just love her!

365 Cards Challenge - Day 27

This is something new... I am entering a challenge from 365 cards. It is the Touchy Feely card challenge - Try to incorporate 3 different methods of adding texture to the paper on your card.

This challenge is right up my alley. I just started making cards recently, after trying my hand at scrapbooking for some time. I have found that I really enjoy adding a lot of different elements to cards. For this card, I used some stitching around the edge, embossing on the pink round mats, torn paper, and some ribbon. The circles with the martini glasses are also raised.

Kelsie - 3 yr thank you notes

One more layout from Kelsie's 3rd birthday. The picture on this page looks like the thank you notes we sent out after her party. I made an extra one and just journaled about the party. Kelsie signed her name like she did for all of her other thank you notes that year. This was one of the last ones she signed, so she was just scribbling by this one. The flowers on this page come from the Walk in My Garden cartridge.

Kelsie's 3rd Birthday - Better Late than Never!

This is how far behind I am in my scrapbooks... I am working on Kelsie's 3rd birthday. I loved these invitations. This was the year of the Barbie Party! So Cute!

For the first page, I used the Storybook font, and I welded the letters with Design Studio. The flowers all over the page are from Walk in My Garden.

> For the Barbie Party pages, I used the Hello Kitty Font for the flower letters.

Daren's Birthday Invitations

I really like making the kids birthday invitations every year, and Rob's agitation with the entire process does not dissuade me! So this weekend, I realized we need to get these invitations out asap.

I just got the Cricut Camp Out cartridge, and it was perfect for these invitations. Daren loves the outdoors and going hunting. So I thought I would try to incorporate that into his invitations.

I also used a sewing machine to stitch around the edge. (It's not supposed to be straight Mom!) I was going for a rustic effect

At the top of the invitations, I put a little sign that says "Moose be another Birthday". That stamp was the freebie this month at Clear Dollar Stamps. And of course, on the left I put moose tracks from the Camp Out cartridge.

I am really happy with how these turned out. However, after they were all finished, and Daren was looking at them, he pointed out to me that I have the wrong year for the date of the party! Ha ha! Oh well - they went out like that!

Little Bookmarkers

I made a few bookmarkers this week.
The cat is from the Cricut Doodlecharms
cartridge. I used chipboard and Mod Podge to make them a little more sturdy and durable.

The third one was just a little chipboard tag that I decorated.

New cards

I played in my clean scrapbook room Sunday evening and made a few new cards.

I got a new Hello Kitty Cricut Cartridge, and had to try that.
Upon showing this card to Kelsie, I was informed that she doesn't like Hello Kitty! So that was a well-informed purchase!

A friend gave Kelsie a bunch of hand-me-down clothes, so we made a Thank you card for her. I used the Nestabilities for this one.

This was a birthday card we threw together for a kids party this weekend. New stamps from Clear Dollar Stamps.

My favorite place

I finally cleaned my scrapbook room this weekend. It was such a mess! But now it is all organized again! I had to take pictures to remind myself how much better it is when it is all straightened up!

This is the view when you first walk into the room. We bought these large steel shelves at Sams Club. This shelf has all of my stamping supplies, Sizzix dies, stickers, Bind-It-All supplies, and small mat stacks.

This is the main work area. We had extra shelves from the shelving units, so Rob was able to find a kit and mount one of the extra shelves on the wall above my table. It is great for hanging clips and storage boxes.

The large shelving unit in the corner has all of my Cricut cartridges, Crop-a-Dile, paper scraps, and large paper packs.

I have the 2 large magnet boards with some pictures. I keep my ribbon, 12" cutter, Cricut machine, scissors, and other tools in this main work area.

This is the view from the other side of the room. This table is where I keep my Sizzix machine and Creative Memories cutters. There is also another spare shelf that Rob mounted to the wall. I found some small round containers that have a magnet on the back, and I store Prima flowers in those and just keep them on the front of the shelf. The large white boxes have magazines and other larger supplies in them.
