365 Cards - Day 41

Can you believe it?? I made another card for 365 Cards! Today is Feel Better Friday at 365 Cards. The challenge is to create a Get Well Card that incorporates 5 flowers. Here is my take on this challenge:

I printed the sentiment on vellum. The flowers are from Walk in my Garden - cut at 1", 1.5", and 2". I added coordinating gems to the centers of the flowers.

Cuttlebug Challenges - Rendezvous Monday

I just loved the colors for the Monday challenge on Cuttlebug Challenges. So I made a second card!

I used the swirl folder on the kraft paper and added black ribbon across the middle of the kraft paper. I stamped the flower
images on the small white squares and mounted them
on the embossed kraft squares. Then I used foam stickers
on the small squares to add some dimension. Finally I put some gems in the corners to give it a more finished look.

365 Cards - Day 40

Woo hoo! 5 days in a row! The card challenge today on 365 cards is to use the sun, sand, and surf as inspiration. Here is my submission:

I tore the tan and white paper for the sand and sky. Then I used the Doodlecharms cartridge for the palm tree and the sunshine. I just got the Fun at the Beach cartridge which had this lawn chair clip on it - I inked the edges of the chair. Finally, the bottom left edge of the card looked too plain, so I just put some little flowers there to fill in the space. Fun Challenge!

365 Cards - Day 39

4 days in a row!!! My new goal is to try to participate in the 365 Cards challenge every day this week - almost there.

The challenge today is called Wacky Color Wednesday, and the objective is to create a card with three colors - orange, green, and purple. Here is my submission for this challenge:

I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder on the large piece of purple cardstock. As I am a glutton for punishment, I stitched around the edges - unfortunately I am not getting any better at using a sewing machine! I also happen to have some Prima flowers and brads in the right colors.

The small sentiment was embossed using a Cuttlebug folder. I added photo corners cut from my Cricut, and mounted it using foam stickers to give it some dimension.

365 Cards - Day 38

The challenge today on 365 Cards is called "That's it I Quilt!" For this challenge, participants are to use the following basic quilt pattern as a guide:
I wasn't going to participate in this challenge, because I just thought it would take too long. But I decided to give it a try. This is my interpretation of this sketch:

I used my little Sizzix buttons again for this one, and I also stitched around the edge. I can't remember where I saw this sentiment before, but it stuck with me, and I thought it would be perfect for this card. I think it could use some more stitching, but I just didn't have the time.
