365 Cards - Day 62

The challenge over at 365 Cards today is "Age is just a Number". The timing of this challenge is perfect as we are celebrating my mom's 70th birthday this weekend! The goal of the challenge is to use a number on the card and the number should signify the importance of the event. This is my submission:

I did a few different things on this card... I layered a bunch of different coordinating papers, and then I stitched them with my sewing machine - my mom will love that because, as I have mentioned before, the stitching will bring back "fond" memories from my childhood when she tried to teach me to sew (not really - ha ha!).

The "70" was cut from the George Cricut cartridge.

Then in keeping with my other projects this week, I added a raised frame to add a little dimension - I also stitched around the frame. Finally, the frame seemed a little plain, so I added some little buttons with some ribbon in the corner.

Not too fancy, but I think she will like it.

Wonderful card. I can not sew on machine so really admire when someone can and use in the cards. Your card is very elegant whit these joints. I am sure your mom will like it.

This is just lovely. Despite having a sewing machine I always tend to do faux stitching on cards. It seems such a work-up to get out the machine to do a small amount of stitching. Having said that, the real thing always looks so much better!!
